In 1998, our city started an annual relamping program. I had Sylvania bulbs left
from previous years, and though I had numerous problems with them in the past, I
wanted to use what I had. I relamped two of our streets with Sylvania and the
rest of the city with Duro-Test bulbs. The whole process took approximately two
months. Before finishing with the relamping, I had to replace many of the
Sylvania bulbs because of burnout. About fifty percent of the time when taking a
Sylvania bulb out of the socket the bulb would separate from the base.
To date we have some Duro-Test bulbs that have been in service for eighteen
months. Nothing beats a Duro-Test Bulb.
